How a Ventilation System Works

Do you want to know how a ventilation system works? If so, then here’s everything you need to know about ventilation services.

What is a ventilation system? A ventilation system’s primary duty is to bring fresh air inside the building and flush out contaminated inside air out of the building. It is a mechanical system. In a workplace, most companies have a mechanical ventilation system to provide a safe and workable environment for their employees by removing vapors, fumes, dust particles out of the building while letting fresh air in.

How does mechanical ventilation work? In a typical mechanical ventilation service, clean air is pushed into the building through the ducts and discharged near the workplace floor. This air is then pulled out from the building and exhausted through a stack. Alternatively, this air can be cleaned and recirculated to reduce heating and cooling costs.

What is local exhaust ventilation? In contrast, ventilation services offer local exhaust ventilation systems are large systems used to evacuate contaminated air at the source. These systems can be extremely large such as the multi-canopy system. Multiple enclosure hoods are used to evacuate contaminated air where it is produced or local to the source.

The contaminated air passes through connected ductwork and air cleaner and is then exhausted outside of the facility through a stack. Air from a local exhaust ventilation system can be cleaned and recirculated back into the facility.
